General_note: This map was ordered by the Honorable Jefferson Davis, Secretary of War, and was made in accordance with the 10th and 11th sections of the Army Appropriations Act of March 3, 1853. It was compiled in the office of the Pacific R.R. Surveys under the direction of Bvt. Maj. W.H. Emory, Topl. Engrs., in 1854 and of Capt. A.A. Humphreys, Topl. Engrs., in 1854-1857.
